Tuscan Slice | Our Story

Family-built, wood-fired, and rooted in Waxahachie

Family-built, wood-fired, and rooted in Waxahachie

Tuscan Slice was born in April 2010 when brothers Jonathan and Joshua Evola brought their New York roots and love of from-scratch Italian cooking to Waxahachie, Texas. What started as a family dream has grown into a beloved cornerstone of the community — where every guest is treated like family.

Jonathan and Joshua grew up in New York City, where great pizza isn't a treat — it's a standard. They chose Waxahachie as the perfect midpoint between their homes in Ennis and Arlington, drawn by its strong sense of community.

At the heart of Tuscan Slice is a wood-fired oven the brothers constructed by hand, using stones imported from Italy. Everything that comes out of it — pizza, steaks, seafood — is made from scratch, the way it was always meant to be done.

As guests kept coming back, Jonathan and Joshua — alongside their wives Aimee and Corin — expanded the space to include more seating, a full bar, private dining rooms, and an outdoor patio. Every addition was built around making room for more memories.

Family beyond the name

Tuscan Slice is home to the original kids' make-your-own wood-fired pizza experience, where little ones roll their own dough and build their own pie. As Jonathan has said, the guests here aren't just customers — they're part of the family.
